About
Bed bugs are one of the more dreaded problems to have in North America. Everyone fears the thought of having bugs bite them during their sleep and a bed bug infestation can be a very difficult problem to resolve. What makes it even more difficult is the fact that they are oftentimes the size of a speck of dust not to mention they lay thousands and thousands of eggs each year. The good news is they are not thought to transmit diseases.
- Habits
Bed Bugs like to travel and will hide in suitcases, boxes and shoes to be near a food supply. They are elusive, nocturnal creatures. They can hide behind baseboards, electrical switch plates, picture frames, even wall paper. They come out at night for a blood meal.
- Threats
Although bed bugs can dine on any warm-blooded animal, they primarily dine on humans. Bedbugs do not transmit diseases, but their bites can become red, itchy welts.
- Prevention
Vacuum suitcases after returning from a vacation. Check your bed sheets for tell-tale blood spots. Bed Bugs are elusive creatures, so it is imperative to seek professional pest control to address an infestation. Further, you can also use some bed platforms and frames which are bugs resistant and prevent bugs naturally without using medication.
